Throughout the year E2E hosts a spectacular variety of events, from breakfast seminars to private dinners and receptions. These events bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders and policy makers, each with the desire to share ideas and discuss how their experiences can help the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Our most recent event was a cocktail reception and panel discussion chaired by Chris Blackhurst, Executive Director of international political and corporate campaigning and advisory firm CTF Partners. The evening was kindly hosted by our corporate partner, KPMG.
Newgate Communications, our PR partner, took the opportunity to talk more with our panel of experts, to find out more about what inspires, motivates and challenges them.
Our first guest speaker was Hugo Burge, CEO of Momondo Group, the parent company of several pioneering global travel search brands. Hugo became CEO of Momondo Group in 2011, having joined and invested in Cheapflights in 2000. Hugo describes himself as an enthusiastic and qualified geographer (he has an MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge) and is putting his knowledge and passion to great use at Momondo. He is also a founding member of HOWZAT Partners, which invests in promising early stage digital businesses.
Our second guest speaker was Clive Jackson, CEO and founder of Victor. Victor is a revolutionary, on-demand private jet charter comparison and booking marketplace born out of Clive’s frustration with commercial air travel and the outdated, often opaque jet broker industry. The company’s unique mix of innovative technology, high-touch customer service and booking transparency (around jet detail, pricing and fees) has driven four-year average sales growth of 137% per annum. Clive is passionate about entrepreneurship and has founded three world-class companies – Global Beach in 1993, Autotorq in 2001, and now Victor, in 2011.
Our final guest speaker was Michael Wright, founder and non-executive director of Riviera Travel. Michael founded Riviera Travel in 1983 and it now employs 84 people. It is one of the most dynamic companies in the travel sector, targeting the growing over 55 demographics. Michael is famous for personally road testing the tours before offering them for sale to customers. In 2014, the company secured investment from Phoenix Equity Partners. Michael remains a significant shareholder and is still involved with the running of the company.
