On the September 11th, we are hosting a very special Leaders Series Breakfast at the House of Lords chaired by Lord Karan Bilmioria CBE, DL alongside an inspirational morning with Tamara Littleton, Founder and CEO of The Social Element. Tamara is founder and CEO of The Social Element, a global social media agency that delivers social media strategy, content, engagement and insights to some of the world’s biggest brands. Tamara founded the company in 2002, before the explosion in social media. She had previously run the Online Webmaster team for BBC Online, which fueled her love of online communities. From the early days of moderating branded communities, she recognised the potential of social media engagement and great content for business. When Facebook launched in 2004 and then Twitter in 2006, the business took off and her prediction about the future of social media was realized.

Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL, Co-Founder – Cobra Beer Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL is also the Co-Founder of Cobra Beer, Chancellor of Birmingham University and Board Director, E2E. In 1989, at the age of 27 and with £20,000 in debt, Bilimoria launched Cobra Beer. By November 2014, Cobra had a market share of over 98% of all licensed Indian restaurants within the United Kingdom. Karan was appointed the Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, making him the first ever Zoroastrian to sit in the House of Lords. In 2008, he was awarded the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman by the President of India. He is an honorary fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge and a Member of the Advisory Boards of the Judge Business School, Cambridge. In July 2014, he was installed as the seventh Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, making him the first Indian-born Chancellor of a Russell Group University in England.
