Peter Roberts, Founder – Pure Gym
Founded Pure Gym in September 2008 after conducting extensive research into the low-cost gym market. Formed the management team and raised the initial investment through Private EIS Funds. Developed and managed 60 gyms before selling to American Private Equity in 2013, and went on to increase this to 150, before stepping down as CEO to become Chairman. The business is now the clear leader in its sector with 185 gyms with a T/O and EBITDA of £190m and £60m respectively.
Meera Santoro, Co-Founder – Santoro
Meera Santoro founded SANTORO with her partner Lucio Santoro, in a little studio off Carnaby Street in 1983. There they created a brand that now reaches over 90 countries around the globe, winning 50 international design awards and accolades along the way from Greetings Cards and Gifts to Property and Interior Design.
Their first breakthrough was in the form of moving 3D cards which went on to win numerous awards. Santoro’s Gorjuss collection was launched in 2009 and is now available at over 35,000 points of sale and has already become a £120m brand. This continued success has recently led to Santoro Licensing being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade – the UK’s most prestigious enterprise award.
Shalini Khemka, Founder, CEO & Board Director – E2E
Shalini is a Member of the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board. She is a fellow of Burton & South Derbyshire College. She is also a judge for the Great British Entrepreneurs Awards and The National Business Awards. Shalini is a Champion for Tech London Advocates, a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Commonwealth Entrepreneurs and an Ambassador for Recordsure. She was formerly on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE), The Development Board of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was a judge for IBM Smartcamp.
Richard Morris, CEO – IWG UK
Richard is CEO of IWG UK. He joined in 2014 following his role as CEO of G4S’s UK & Ireland Division. Regus is the world’s largest provider of flexible workspace solutions offering a fast growing global network of 3,000 locations in 120 countries.
In 2015, with Richard at the helm, Regus UK generated more than £450 million in revenue, driving profit to in excess of £84 million. Since joining, Richard has consistently delivered year on year growth for Regus’ UK division.
Ann O’Byrne, Deputy Mayor – Liverpool City Council
Cllr Ann O’Byrne has been a City Councillor in Liverpool since 2007, having previously dedicated her life to community development.
Ann was appointed Deputy Mayor for Liverpool City Council in 2015 and is responsible for driving forward the Mayor’s priorities for the city by collaborative leadership with cabinet members, mayoral leads and ward councillors. Ann takes a lead on regeneration, finance and representing Liverpool on the City Region Combined Authority.
Before being appointed Deputy Mayor, Ann was Cabinet Member for Housing and was responsible for delivering 5,000 new homes and the refurbishment of 1,000 new homes which have been integral to Liverpool’s regeneration.
