Lord Leigh of Hurley, Senior Partner, Cavendish Corporate Finance & Deputy Executive Chairman, finnCap Group plc
Howard graduated in Economics from Southampton University, and after a short spell in UK merchant banking, joined Deloitte Haskins & Sells where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He transferred to the corporate tax department where he further qualified with the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
In early 1986 Howard established Deloitte’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group and developed an expertise in company sales. In May 1988 he left to set up Cavendish Corporate Finance LLP and is currently the Senior Partner.
Cavendish is now the UK’s leading specialist sell-side adviser to owners of mid-market businesses, having acted in over 500 transactions, mainly UK based. Over 50% of Cavendish’s clients are sold to overseas buyers.
In December 2018, Cavendish merged with finnCap and the new group – finnCap Group plc – was listed on the London AIM market. In addition to his role as Senior Partner of Cavendish, Lord Leigh serves as Deputy Executive Chairman of the finnCap Group.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Lord Leigh will be joined by:
Andy Rubin (MA MBA CCMI) – Chair of Pentland Brands Ltd
Andy Rubin is Chair of Pentland Brands Ltd, a director of Pentland Group plc and non-executive director of JD Sports Fashion Plc. Pentland is a UK based, private family-owned company operating in sports, outdoor and fashion. Andy is the third generation to lead the family’s brand management business.
Pentland owns global brands Speedo, Canterbury, Berghaus, Ellesse, Endura, and Mitre and is the global footwear partner for Lacoste and Karen Millen footwear. The Group is the majority shareholder in JD Sports Fashion plc, an international multichannel retailer in sports, outdoor and fashion operating 2,500 stores and numerous online businesses.

2017 – EY Best Family Business in the UK
2014 – Campden Best European Family Business
2008 – IFB Best Family Business in UK
Andy is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute and a Companion of the British Academy of Management. He is Vice President and Executive Board Member of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry.
He is Chair of the Dean’s Council at Lancaster University Management School and an Honorary Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Innovation. Andy is a Family Advisory Council Member for the Said Business School at the University of Oxford’s research programme examining the benefits of corporate purpose.
Andy is involved in numerous charities and is a Trustee of In Kind Direct, the UK’s leading redistribution charity and an Ambassador for Leaders Quest.
Andy read Law at Trinity College, Cambridge University and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Shalini Khemka – Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Board Director, E2E
Shalini founded E2Exchange (E2E) in 2011 with the mission to develop the largest & most active entrepreneurial ecosystem in the UK to enable extraordinary entrepreneurship. E2E focuses on connecting Founders, champions entrepreneurship, creates communities and invests capital via their GBP50m facility to finance high growth companies. Coupled with this, E2E places leading Non-Exec Directors on the boards of scale-up companies and provides an ecosystem of support to Founders include a suite of world class services at entrepreneurially driven rates. It’s Board includes: Lord Bilimoria CBE DL, Duncan Bannatyne OBE, Kanya King MBE, Hugh Chappell and Darryl Eales.
Prior to establishing E2E, Shalini was an Investment Director at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyd’s Banking Group and historically, she ran the Group’s ‘plain vanilla’ International Trade Finance business. Shalini co-founded the world’s first online ‘bank to bank’ trade finance company. She was a Management Accountant at Deutsche Bank and worked in various finance related roles for Bankers Trust, NatWest Bank and Coopers & Lybrand.
Shalini is a Member of the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board. She is a Non-Executive Director of UK Export Finance (UKEF) and a Fellow of Burton & South Derbyshire College. Shalini is also a judge for the Great British Entrepreneurs Awards and The National Business Awards. Shalini is a Champion for Tech London Advocates, a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Commonwealth Entrepreneurs and an Ambassador for Recordsure. She was formerly on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE), The Development Board of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was a judge for IBM Smartcamp.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Natasha Frangos – Head of Creative, Media & Technology, haysmacintyre
Natasha trained and qualified with haysmacintyre and has been a partner since 2009. She heads up haysmacintyre’s Creative, Media and Technology (CMT) team and her clients include design, fashion, retail, media agencies, ecommerce and a wide range of tech businesses, and she often acts for the individuals behind these businesses as well.
Natasha frequently acts for a company from its early stages, through to growth and expansion, during a transaction and remain involved in the company beyond that event. She prides herself on developing long lasting client relationships, often acting as a sounding board for her clients across a range of commercial and financial issues, delivering a personal and high value service.
The services she and her team advise their clients on, over and above compliance services, include structuring for investment, share option schemes, R&D tax credits, extraction of profits, budgeting and planning for an exit.
Natasha has been a judge for Young Guns and StartUp Awards for many years.
