UBS has been focused on supporting women with their financial wellbeing for over five years now and they have kindly extended their online UBS Women Forum to our members.
A mixture of articles, video links, and audio podcasts, topics covered include practical guidance and specialist interviews, with some highly relevant content for female entrepreneurs on: how to get more involved with your wealth, how to get started with gender-lens investing, how to negotiate the best exit from your business, how to do good for the world and your wealth and how to command respect in business.
Highlights include:
· “Ready to take ownership?” – a seminar on how to become more involved with your wealth and avoid the tradition trap;
· “How to build a brand that lasts” – leading brand specialist Kubi Springer shares strategies for success;
· “Leaving on a high note” – an expert panel on taking control of a business exit and honing negotiation skills; and
· “Where do I go from here?” – a roundtable discussion on positive steps to take post-lockdown.
New content will be uploaded weekly throughout July and August with 5 already available, and we would love to hear your feedback.
A sneak peek at what’s to come:
Female-led family businesses and their governance – the part they play in working to address barriers for female leaders
The Institute for Family Business in the UK has found that “while the number of women running businesses is increasing, women are still under-represented in leadership roles in all business types and industries in the UK. The whole business community needs to work to address barriers for female leaders – and family businesses must play a part in that too. We are very fortunate to be joined by Maxime Carmignac, Managing Director of Carmignac Risk Management, a EUR 35bn asset management firm, established by her father and now in her capable hands.
Creative thinking: why the Arts and gender both matter to business
Join us for our online chat with art philanthropist Candida Gertler OBE, co-founder of the Outset Contemporary Art Fund, a global fund supporting contemporary visual art. Our special guest will be joined by Louise Evans from the UBS Art Collection to discuss the important role that art plays in our daily lives and to share some highlights from our collection. The UBS Art Collection is considered to be one of the world’s most significant corporate collections of contemporary art. With over 30,000 pieces representing artists from over 70 countries, we are passionate about diversity and equality and actively support female artists at pivotal points in their career.
“Where do I go from here?” Guidance from a range of experts on positive next steps to take post-lockdown.
To celebrate the final event in our series we are delighted to host a roundtable panel discussion with a leading family lawyer, a global economist, a female entrepreneur and a philanthropy advisor. The discussion will cover any related topic – ranging from family matters to how to revitalise your business, to guidance on financial markets and the shape of our global economy – to help you emerge from lockdown with positivity to embrace the next phase of life.
